Talk about Repair Cafés at the Regenerative Communities Summit

Our own Elizabeth Knight-Moss will be co-presenting in a workshop about Repair Cafés at the 2021 Transition US National Gathering/Regenerative Communities Summit on Sept 27. This summit will be held virtually from Sept 24 – Oct 10, 2021

Repair Café Workshop Description

Monday, Sept. 27th 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm EDT (2:00 pm - 4:00 pm PDT)

Used to be, people prided themselves on their ability to repair, re-use and repurpose the things they owned. Since WWII, we’ve embraced a throwaway culture that thrives on consumerism. But convenience is not sustainable; now there’s growing support for Maker Spaces, Fixit Clinics, and Repair Cafes. These are public gathering spaces where people are feeding their curiosity about how things work, pooling resources, and sharing skills to extend the life of the things they own, reducing waste, making friends, and having fun, while strengthening community connections.

Join Galen Meyers - former Makerspace organizer and passionate Regenerative Culture facilitator, and Elizabeth Knight - Repair Café organizer and co-author of Repair Revolution-How Fixers Are Transforming Our Throwaway Culture, to learn how you can participate in a powerful community response to fix a broken world – right at home!
